Make 'em Laugh

We're in a transitional phase around here. The tried and true bedtime routine has fallen apart and we must now find new ways to fool the kids into thinking that sleeping is a good thing. And, frankly, it's hard to argue with them when their waking life is filled with moments like this:

By the way, just so you know, Nancy thought that painting would be a good pre-bath activity to get them starting to calm down from the day. One thing we all love about Nancy is how (sometimes blindly) optimistic she is.

Good calming down, there. ;)

Michael's idea of good calming down activity is to throw the baby in the air and then tickle both kids until they're actually, literally bouncing off the walls.

We're also in that kind of transitional place; as Molly announced to me last night, "Sleep is boring." The baby thinks so, too. Me, not so much. I have waking hallucinations about more sleep (which might actually be me dozing off...with hallucinations, it's hard to tell).

I did have to laugh at their laughing about the paint, though - it's always funnier when it's not your kids you have to hose off and re-calm down. ;)
